POPPY HERE! Happy to meet you. I am a weird, funny, quirky, 12-year-old female Shih-tzu looking for a home of my own. I am a "chunky thang" and weigh 18 pounds. I LOVE my wet food but can be picky about any other type of food. I am extremely quiet unless I am behind a gate or in a room I want to leave. I am always near, but you will find yourself asking “where is Poppy” and you will look around and I am standing right there. Quiet confidence. I am not a snuggly girl but I will sit by you. I don’t ask for much attention. I am happy just being in the same room as you. I am good with other dogs although I do not really care if they are there or not. I am also good with cats. The only thing I like to play with is my foster dad’s slippers. Occasionally, I get cranky about being moved when I am lying down. I've never nipped anyone, but because I sometimes get snappy, I would like a home with adults only. I have some issues with my eyes that I use eye drops for. I will require them for life. I will be going to see the eye doctor soon, and I also will be having my labs redone because some of my numbers are out a little, but doc is thinking everything will be just fine. If you are looking for a companion who doesn’t need to be on you 24/7, I am your girl. I will stare lovingly into your eyes. I will be your shoulder to cry on, your confidant and your best friend for life. Available through Tired Dog Rescue, Gulfport, MS. Apply at tireddogrescue.org. Fee: $125.
We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
