LOCAL ADOPTON ONLY-
Hello!  My name is Scruffy, and I am a two year old, five pound, cream colored yorkie/poodle mix.  I was a stray for the majority of my life, so unfortunately, I am heartworm positive.  But don't worry, I will be completely treated and will be good as new!  I will need to be adopted locally to complete my treatment.  I will be neutered and up to date on all my vaccinations before adoption.

My foster mom says I am a very goofy fun-loving guy.  Do you know the character, "Lloyd Christmas?"  Just imagine him in dog form.  She says I'm just so playful, silly, and sweet.

I spent so long without my own home or things, so I get very excited for toys!  I will gather all the toys, shoes, blankets, leashes and lay them in my bed.  I don't chew them!  I just want them near me...I love having my own things (and borrowing everyone else's things)!

It's unknown how I will be with cats and can be tested before adoption if needed.  I love all humans and dogs!  I would love a home with other dogs and humans to play with me!  That has always been my dream!  I do have energy since I'm a younger guy so having dogs that like to play would be nice!  My foster mom has older dogs and I can bug them sometimes when I try to get them to play with me.  I was a stray, but I am very well socialized!  I love all the attention and just adore when someone is talking to me!  Makes me feel so special!

I am still working on my house-training, but my foster mom says I get a gold star!  I will follow the other dogs out and I know how to use the doggie door now!  I would do best on a routine until I have house training down completely.  I will need a fenced yard since I was a stray and might choose to wander if given the opportunity.

I love to sleep with my foster mom.  She makesme feel so special and gave me my own bed and blanket, both things I've never had before!  I just love them and sleep in them while she sleeps.  Or I just climb on top of my foster mom and we cuddle until we fall asleep.  She tells me one day I'll have my own human to snuggle with - I can't wait!

I haven't been crated yet, my foster mom leaves me loose in the house and I do not destroy anything!  I just relax until I see her again.  I was never walked on a leash before going to my foster mom so I will need a human that is willing to work with me if long walks are in our future.  I like to grumble "talk" to my foster mom and she finds it quite entertaining when I disagree with her.  Is it wrong to disagree that I should get endless treats?  I think not.  I'm not a barker but will join in with my foster brothers start barking at something.

I just can't wait to have my own home and family to love and play with.  If you think a ball of scruffy love is a good match for your household, please apply today!  I promise you won't regret it!

We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
