Lil Lady was found dragging herself down the street unable to walk on her back legs. A sweet girl stopped and picked her up and brought her home and shaved down her matted coat and took her right to the vet. She called Tired Dog for help because she was unprepared for another dog especially one in bad shape medically. We were more than happy to help this sweet girl.
Turned out that Lady had a broken hip but it was able to heal on it's own. She also had some inflammation in her back which was treated with anti-inflammatories and now Lady gets around perfectly. She is an older girl probably around 10. Vision impaired due to cataracts and possible glaucoma which will be evaluated by an ophthalmologist shortly. We believe she can see some because she does not hesitate when walking around nor does she bump into things. She may be hard of hearing too. Even with all of this and what she has been through Lady is a wonderful and loving girl. Loves to play with her toys and to sit on your lap. When you stop petting her she will nudge your hand until you start up again.
Older dogs get passed over frequently and until you rescue one you will never understand the love and gratitude they feel for you and the amazing feeling you get from saving them. Once you rescue one you will continue to adopt seniors because there is nothing like one!
Lady's fee is 75.00. If interested in fostering or adopting please go to www.tireddogrescue.com
We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
