This is Dixie a 12-year-old Chihuahua. She weighs 8lbs but looks even smaller than her weight. She is a low-key lady looking for a place to lay her head. She is sweet and snuggly and loves to give kisses. Dixie is good with other dogs and all adults. Hasn't been around small kids but because she is so tiny and fragile I would suggest older, well behaved children only. Dixie has not been around cats but by her personality I would say she would do just fine.

When Dixie was found as a stray she was having a seizure. The person who found her brought her to the vet and she stayed there for a few days but did not have another seizure. She does have a microchip and I was able to find her original owner who had given her away years before. He said that she did occasionally have seizures when he owned her. So we have put her on a very low dose of a low-cost medicine for preventative reasons. She has been here with me for a week and has not had one so we do not feel this is a concern.

If you are looking for an older baby to love Dixie would be perfect. Her fee is 75.00 and she is up-to-date on vaccinations, will be spayed before placement and is heartworm negative and microchipped.

More about Dixie

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Adults

We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
