SWEET, SOULFUL SAMMIE RAE. Those three
words sum up all you need to know about this healthy, 11-year-old tall, dark, and handsome gentleman. Having been allowed to be a couch potato by his previous owner, Sammie surprised his foster mom by taking to walks on a leash like a pro. This will serve him well as he needs to lose some weight to take some stress off his arthritic joints. Typical of Labrador Retrievers, he is great around children, giving lots of hugs and kisses to his foster mom's 3-year-old grandson upon first meeting. Housebroken, heart-worm negative, fine with being in a crate (although not needed)and just delightful to be in your company, Sammie is looking for a home to set up his permanent residence. He has lived in harmony with other dogs of all sizes and reportedly cats as well. He has not reacted to the resident mouse catcher at his foster home. If you have another dog, a slow introduction is suggested as he has reacted to other dogs outside his immediate circle. He is currently mourning the loss of his longtime owner and may take some time to become comfortable in a new setting but, befriending this special boy is well worth the effort.

We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
