Opie lost his dad and is mourning him very much. He is looking for a new dad who will spend a lot of time with him. He would love to ride around with him and go for long walks. Opie is sweet but anxious and for the time being taking medicine to calm him down through this stressful period after losing his dad and his home. Opie is good with other dogs and adults. Hasn’t been around children but he seems like he would be good with bigger children. He is pretty strong and may accidentally knock down smaller kids when excited.

Opie does have a very loud bark so he would definitely not do good in a condo or apartment. He loves to roam around the yard so a fence would be great but if not, he would really enjoy to be walked on a leash. He is housetrained. Once he settles in and knows he is “home” he will be a great boy. He will make someone a great constant companion.

Opie is 10 years old and weighs about 55lbs. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. He does take chews for his old joints and is on medicine for his anxiety that I believe he will not need once he gets settled. Opie has a large but benign fatty tumor on his side that does not cause him any issues. He just had bloodwork which looked good and a dental so his teefies are sparkling.
