Meet Jakee, possible a Westie mix. While initially standoffish, once he warms up to you, he’s a devoted luv bug. Jakee will greet you with happiness and joy when you come home, accompanied by his uniquely gravely bark. He enjoys being in the same room as you but doesn’t insist on constant attention. At night he sleeps in his own bed but eagerly joins you in the morning for coffee, offering affectionate licks and conversation. He is very vocal and loves to "talk" to you. He would love to go on walks with you or just sit and chill. Housebroken and accustomed to using a doggie door, he's a breeze to care for.
However, due to past experiences, he is sensitive about his rear end and grooming, requiring patience and possibly sedation for grooming sessions. With time and patience, he may learn to trust enough for brushing. Because of his feelings about being touched in certain areas he would not do well in a home with children, because they don't always realize when a dog is annoyed.
Jakee is around 10 years old and weighs 20lbs. Despite his age he is still active and enjoys romping in the backyard with his foster brothers and sisters. Considering his age a daily joint supplement and sometimes anti-inflammatories will help keep him running.
Jakee recently had a dental procedure ensuring his teeth are in excellent conditions. His vaccines are up-to-date and he underwent standard senior bloodwork panel and x-rays in November to ensure he is a healthy guy.

We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
