Berkley...my name is Berkley! My foster mom calls me Berks, Berker, or Berkules because I'm small but mighty like Hercules! I'm slightly deaf so you can really call me whatever you like, as long as you say it loud enough, I'll come trotting over to you! I also like when you clap to get my attention...who doesn't love a round of applause??
Anyways, I am a 14-year-old eight-pound male Yorkshire Terrier. I am neutered, up to date on shots, and heartworm negative. I am ready to go!
Please don't pass me up because of my age...I really am a diamond. I have plenty left to give and want nothing more than love and a soft bed (maybe yours?).
You want someone to take walks with? I'm your guy! Need your lap kept warm while you work? Consider it done! Movie night cuddles on the couch? I'm in! I really just want to be with people no matter what we are doing.
I am house trained (still working on realizing house plants are not fair game) and pretty low energy. I like to go outside, sniff around a bit or go for a little walk, then come back inside to hang out. People get so excited about puppies, but us seniors have it down! We are fully trained and know how to look just as adorable. Seniors also love sleep...who doesn't like that? I have no problem snoozing through the night, or while you're gone, or taking a snooze with you.
I love car rides and would love to take adventures with you! I love looking out the window! I'm not a barker and my foster mom says I'm just such a chill guy. I love all humans and I was around children in my previous home. I get along with cats and dogs as well. Everyone is my friend...and my tail just won't stop! I guarantee you will melt when you meet me!
I am missing some teeth...getting old can be tricky. But it doesn't slow me down. If you just wet my kibble down a little, it's no problem! Or a wet food diet sounds amazing too! My eyes have also aged a bit. My foster mom calls it the glitter in my eyes....quite charming, right? I can still see just fine. It's just another perk of being a silver fox.
I don't shed but will need occasional grooming to keep my coat nice. My foster mom is able to bathe me and trim me without an issue. Who doesn't love a good spa day? I love strangers too so going to a salon wouldn't be an issue either. Just be warned, they will most likely fall in love with me too.
