Well, hello! My name is Sir Baxter B. But you can call me Baxter. I am a regal little gentleman chihuahua weighing only 9 pounds. I am nine years young and if you are familiar with chihuahuas, that's barely middle aged. Chihuahuas live a million years (not really but we typically have very long lifespans!). I was heartworm positive but have already finished treatment,
Baxter will be due back in 9 month(s) for his heartworm test
. I am up to date on my shots, and neutered! I am ready for my people!!
I do have a few medical challenges but nothing that will sway my loving and affectionate personality. I have a medial luxation of the patella in my left stifle but it's not that big of an issue. I don't have any plans of running a marathon anytime soon. I would rather sit on the couch and watch all your favorite reruns with you. The Office is one of my favorites. I feel like I would be the character Jim...just a sweet guy that warms up the room with my presence. If you met me, you would understand! I can be a little shy at first, but once I know you, I will be your best friend.
I am housetrained and even know how to use a doggie door! I also love to travel! I am a gentleman but I'm not beyond becoming a purse dog and traveling the country with my new parents! Or maybe an RV chihuahua and we check out all the national parks!? How fun would that be?? I am good with other mellow, friendly dogs. It's unknown how I am with cats but that can be tested if needed.
Somehow, I have ended up in a rescue, but I am so thankful for my foster mom. She says I warm her heart and am such an easy little guy to live with (well, of course I am!). She keeps telling me my forever family is out there - they just need to find me. Well, here I am! I can't wait to have my own family! I know I'm not a puppy but there's so many benefits to adopting an older dog! We are trained, non-destructive, set in out personalities, and we love naps! You can leave for work for the day and not worry a bit! I will just snooze in a sunny window until you return! Get ready for a tail wagging welcome home every day!
