About Baxter

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black with Brown, Red, Golden, Orange or Chestnut
  • Housetrained: Yes
This incredibly handsome boy is Baxter. Baxter was turned over to rescue by his owner who could no longer care for him. He was having trouble urinating and was in some pain. We took him into our rescue and found out that he had a bladder stone almost the same size as his bladder!!! We had it removed and he is so happy now. He loves to run and play with the ball. Bax is about 5-yrs-old, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations and house trained. Baxter will need to be on special food for the rest of his life in order to keep him from getting any more bladder stones. Tired Dog Rescue asks that you please think carefully before adopting a Cocker Spaniel. Cocker Spaniels are a very high maintenance breed. They must be brushed 1-2 times weekly to keep their fur from matting. Grooming cost averages about 60.00 every 6-8 weeks. Cockers must have weekly ear cleanings to avoid infection and costly trips to the vet. If you are not prepared for the time and cost of owning a Cocker Spaniel please consider a lower maintenance breed. Please note that Tired Dog Rescue will not adopt Cocker Spaniels to homes that have small children living in the home or that visit the home often. If you are interested in any of our dogs please fill out an application at www.tireddogrescue.com All adoptions require a home visit and vet check. Adoption fees range from 150.00-250.00. This fee covers all vaccinations, spay/neuter and any other medical treatment needed. If you have questions you may call Terry at 228-254-6305 Thanks for looking!!

More about Baxter

Is Not Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
